Programs to protect biodiversity

Overtourism is a major challenge for managers of protected natural areas. The vulnerability and complexity of these ecosystems make their protection difficult. Digital twins allow testing solutions through computing and AI. For the past three years, a project deployed in Israel uses former fish ponds to maintain wetlands. These are essential places for biodiversity.

For managers of protected natural areas, tourism is a challenge! The vulnerability and complexity of these ecosystems make their protection difficult. Digital twin technology provides, through countless data, a comprehensive and real-time view of the park's condition. It shows how human activities and biodiversity can coexist harmoniously, thus promoting a more sustainable tourism approach.

Wetlands, with their plants and insects, are crucial stopovers for birds flying over Israel towards Asia. However, drought has sometimes altered them. The Start-Up Nature project of the Society for the Protection of Nature in Israel (SPNI), created in 2021, therefore converts former fish ponds into wetlands. It provides new safe nesting sites for birds during their journey.
